2. managing your child’s account
You will receive an annual statement if the value of the CTF is £300.00 or more and additional subscriptions have been made during the statement period.
If the value of the CTF is less than £300.00 or you haven’t made any subscriptions during the statement period, you will only receive a statement in the year following the child’s 4th, 10th and 15th birthday. A statement is available on request at any time.
If you wish to request a statement please contact us either:
Child Trust Fund Department
Engage Mutual
Hornbeam Park Avenue
Harrogate
HG2 8XE
If you would like an up to date valuation of your child’s CTF account you will need to multiply the number of units they have by the current unit price. The unit price can be viewed on our fund prices page. If you don't know the current number of units your child has please contact us.
To be able to manage your child's CTF you must be the Registered Contact. You must be over the age of 16 and have ‘parental responsibility’ for the child. The Registered Contact will be the main point of contact until the child reaches the age of 16.
If you would like to become the Registered Contact simply complete our online application or call our UK based customer service team FREE on 0800 169 4321†and we will be happy to set this up for you over the phone.
If you would like to change the Registered Contact the existing Registered Contact must confirm that they agree to relinquish their position before another person can take over as the Registered Contact, except in certain circumstances. Please call our UK based customer service team FREE on 0800 169 4321† for further information.
Transferring your child's CTF from another provider to Engage Mutual couldn't be easier, after reading the key features, key investor information and the terms and conditions just print and complete a transfer form and return it to:
Child Trust Fund Department
Engage Mutual
Hornbeam Park Avenue
Harrogate
HG2 8XE
After we receive the transfer form we will then contact the existing CTF provider and take care of everything. Once the transfer has gone through successfully we will send you written confirmation.
If you would like to transfer your child's CTF to another provider it is simple and free of charge. However, you must be the Registered Contact or, if the child’s account has been allocated automatically by HMRC, the Revenue Allocated Account Correspondent.
To transfer from Engage Mutual to another provider you will need to speak to the provider you have chosen to arrange this for you.
This is a hard thing to ever have to consider and hopefully would never happen, but in the unfortunate event the child should die, consideration needs to be made on how to make a claim.
It is important we are notified of the child’s death as soon as possible. This can be done by either calling us on 0800 028 1112† or by writing to:
Child Trust Fund Department
Engage Mutual
Hornbeam Park Avenue
Harrogate
HG2 8XE
To process the claim as quickly and efficiently as possible we will need to see a certified copy of the Death Certificate with a signed covering letter providing instructions of where the claim should be paid to. Once we have received this the units will be sold on the day we receive all the relevant information, then the value of the account will be paid out. We will then return all the original documents

6. general child trust fund news
You may have heard in the news that the HMRC stopped issuing new Child Trust Fund vouchers as of 01 January 2011.
Despite this we’d like to reassure you that existing accounts will continue to operate as normal. This means you can still make additional payments into the account until the child’s 18th birthday.
If you have further questions please contact us on 0800 169 4321†and we will be happy to help in anyway we can.
If you have a child who does not have a child trust fund, but you would like to save on their behalf, you may wish to take a look at junior easy save, Engage Mutual’s tax exempt savings plan for children under 16.
