engage Mutual Annual General Meeting - May 2008

This year's Annual General Meeting was held on Thursday 15th May 2008 at The Pavilions, Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate.

Numbers attending were well up on last year, with many coming for their first time. Chairman Ray Pierce opened the meeting by addressing the Chairman's Report, the Accounts of the Society, the Report of Directors on the activities of the Society and the Auditors' Report for the year ended 31st December 2007, all of which were received. The Directors' Remuneration Report was also approved.

The election of Karl Elliott, the Society's Marketing Director and re-elections of Ray Pierce, Lord Clark of Windermere and David Hargrave as Directors were carried. Deloitte & Touche LLP were appointed as Auditors of the Society.

Short presentations by Andrew Haigh, Chief Executive; Karl Elliott, Marketing Director; and Trevor Batten, With Profits Actuary, followed the formal business and questions from members were welcomed.

Once the formalities of the day were concluded, members sat down to enjoy a buffet lunch. The presence of the engage Super League mascot, Super Sid the Savings Pig, and Grand Final trophy together with the engage International Open Bowls trophy provided some great photo opportunities.

The event culminated with the engage AGM 2008 prize draw, and Andrew Haigh, Chief Executive, was delighted to present two sets of tickets for the engage Super League Grand Final in October to Miss Fiona Wilson and Mr Eric Whitfield.
