Amazing and welcome though a windfall might be, for the recipient the real and lasting impact comes from knowing that someone (a mother… a grandfather…a friend) was thinking of them, and wanted to lend a financial hand.
It’s not about the amount of money concerned. More often, the money provides a valuable connection with someone who cared, but who may no longer be around. Someone who over the years planned and saved towards something they felt was important for them to do.
