Engage Mutual is sponsoring The Mutuals' Forum 2011.
A national forum for mutual organisations across all sectors to share best practice, discuss issues, and hear from Government ministers, it is the fourth year that the Yorkshire-based mutual has sponsored the event.
Taking place at Kings Place Conference Centre in London on 20 October the day- long event draws delegates from mutual financial services, and co-operative and public service sectors.
Ex-international rugby league player, Steve Prescott MBE, will be one of the event’s headline speakers, and will talk around the theme of ‘challenge’. Steve has been fighting a battle against terminal cancer for a number of years. During that time he has raised more than £300,000 for charity through a series of extraordinary challenges.
More than 23 million people in the UK are members of a mutual organisation.

About mutuals
Mutuals are organisations that are owned by, and run for the benefit of, their current and future members. Mutuals take many forms and operate in a wide range of business and social environments. Most people recognise mutuals through one or more of the long established building societies, co-operatives, friendly societies and mutual insurers. But the sector also encompasses the likes of housing associations, clubs and employee owned businesses, specialist bodies such as credit unions, football supporter trusts and community mutuals.
