Alex to prove chickens can fly!

20th May 2010

Alex Chicken, a lifelong Warrington fan, is to take to the skies as part of a fund raising initiative on behalf of the Steve Prescott Foundation.

A mother of two sons aged 22 and 24, Alex will jump from 15,000 feet, in the safe hands of the Red Devils at Langar Airfield in Nottingham, alongside rugby league legends, Steve Prescott, Paul Sculthorpe, Steve Hampson and Terry O’Connor.   They will be joined by ex Everton defender Derek Mountfield and Emmerdale Soap Star, Kelvin Fletcher.

Alex has supported many Warrington Players’ testimonials.   She works for the Primary Care Trust at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, one of the official partner organisations for the club.

Steve Prescott, who is battling a rare form of cancer, has raised thousands of pounds for his Foundation’s nominated charities, Try Assist (the Rugby League Benevolent Fund) and the Christie Cancer Hospital in Manchester since being diagnosed with his condition in 2006. The Steve Prescott Foundation, sponsored by Engage Mutual, has a schedule of events planned for the remainder of 2010, and counts on the generous nature of the public to raise much needed funds for the two charities close to Steve’s heart.

There are limited places available to join Steve Prescott on the parachute jump, which takes place on 1 June.  Participants need to raise a minimum of £800 in sponsorship, which will be donated to the Foundation’s two charities.  Please contact Martin Blondel on 07971 792859 for details.  To donate to the Steve Prescott Foundation, please see www.steveprescottfoundation.co.uk.
