engage Mutual Assurance has appointed a dedicated tracing agency to help connect customers or their beneficiaries with unclaimed money held by the society.
At least £6 million is currently awaiting claim, due in many instances to forgotten policies or un-notified address changes. But specialist tracing company, Assets Reunited, will seek to locate the owners of funds and ensure that these are paid out.
engage Mutual's director of operations, Steve Barry said:
"As a customer-owned business with a mission to help families secure their financial futures, we are putting a great deal of effort into tracing the owners or beneficiaries of a range of policies that are currently waiting to be claimed. Families need to make the most of every penny available and in some instances, could benefit significantly by having access to these funds."
Typically, unclaimed funds arise as a result of forgotten matured insurance policies; un-notified changes of address; or where the policyholder dies and beneficiaries are unaware that the policy exists.
Steve Barry continued:
"As a result of the proactive work we are doing to trace owners of these funds, we are hoping to be able to bring some good news to as many as 3,000 customers, or their relatives."
If you believe you may be entitled to recover unclaimed money, please call the helpline at Assets Reunited on 020 87782727.
