During 2007 Engage Mutual pledged to donate money to SmartRisk as a result of customer panel members completing a fact-find survey about themselves.
about smartrisk
SmartRisk works directly with 11-18 year olds to help them recognise and manage risk in their lives and reduce the number of deaths that occur each year as a result of taking stupid risks.
SmartRisk provides a virtual safety net for young people: five clear and simple strategies that they can action and understand. A protection plan that they can keep in their minds to assess and manage any risky situation: until life skills, experience and wisdom step in.
We found out that our Panel members come from all around the country… from Scotland to the Isle of Wight, from the Isle of Man to the East Coast of England, even as far away as France, Portugal, Canada and Australia! Panel members are a cross-section of our customers - a range of age groups and with a variety of product-holdings.
By our Panel members answering this initial questionnaire we raised the grand total of £5,620 - find out what this money went towards…
how the Engage Mutual customer panel has helped SmartRisk in 2007-08
It costs SmartRisk £2 for every young person to see the SmartRisk Heroes programme and during 2008 SmartRisk has delivered the programme to around 90,000 young people, in England.
The £5,620 that was raised by the Customer Panel has been used to help SmartRisk deliver the SmartRisk Heroes Programme to young people across England in a range of different communities.
More specifically, £5,620 has directly enabled 2,810 young people across England, to see the SmartRisk Heroes Programme and to benefit from the life-saving messages within it.
This is what some young people, who have benefitted from the SmartRisk Heroes Programme in 2008, had to say:
"The show really made me stop and think about my life"
"I admit that I have taken many risks in my time, but from now on I will remember to make sure the situation is under control and safe"
"I thought it was brilliant and everyone should see it"
