our community initiatives

As a mutual organisation we recognise the importance of supporting both local and wider communities. We support numerous types of good causes, not only through financial support and sponsorship, but through staff volunteering and fundraising. It’s all about giving something back to the communities in which our customers and staff live and work.

Some of the fantastic community projects we are currently involved in are:

• engage with your community - supporting customers who actively volunteer by providing successful applicants with a one-off grant for their championed good cause

• supporting grassroots rugby football league clubs with engage with your club - helping generate a volunteer work force dedicated to improving club facilities 

• Local Heroes - giving much deserved recognition to unsung heroes who spend time helping others, protecting the environment or improving the local community. In association with Harrogate's local radio station, Stray FM

• searching for the Future Heroes of North Yorkshire: young achievers between 5 and 18 who make a difference and wave the flag for their school; also in association with Stray FM

• working both locally and nationally to help improve young people's understanding of financial issues and encouraging a healthy attitude towards money and the importance of saving.
